As we reflect on 2025, it’s hard not to feel proud of just how much this year brought to the Canadian Eventing Development Foundation community. From meaningful education opportunities and packed competition days to major athlete milestones, 2025 was a year defined by growth, connection, and momentum.
A Strong Start and Steady Momentum
We kicked off the season by sharpening dressage fundamentals with Ride a Test days, setting a confident tone for the months ahead. That early momentum carried into an excellent spring clinic weekend with Peter Gray, giving riders the opportunity to refine their skills, build confidence, and head into their first competitions prepared and focused.
As the season unfolded, our partnerships continued to grow. Working alongside Sparkle & Spurs, we expanded combined tests and jump rounds, welcoming back familiar faces while also introducing many new riders to CEDF events for the first time.
Competition, Community, and Connection
One of the standout moments of the year was supporting our athletes at Rebecca Farm International. Hosting our Red & White Party and seeing more than 150 members of the CEDF community come together was a powerful reminder of how strong and connected this group truly is.
Throughout the season, our partnership with the EAADA allowed us to offer combined tests and multiple jump rounds, with levels ranging from cross rails to 1.20m. These opportunities helped ensure riders at every stage had access to meaningful, confidence-building competition experiences.
A Flagship Event to Remember
Behind the scenes, much of the year was spent planning what became the highlight of our calendar—the CEDF Symposium. This flagship event brought together multiple clinicians, extensive educational sessions, countless Ride a Tests, and an incredible number of jump rounds. It was a weekend full of learning, growth, and energy, made possible by our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and supportive community.
Alongside our events, we were proud to support Fast Track programming, Rider Level testing, and targeted training sessions designed to help athletes prepare for both current and future goals.
Celebrating Athlete Milestones
2025 was also a year of major milestones for our FEI athletes, reflecting their dedication and continued progression:
Becky opened her season with a Training-level win at Terra Nova
Gemma successfully completed her first 1★ at Rebecca Farm
Brienne reached an exciting milestone by completing her first Preliminary
Cristina achieved an incredible career highlight by completing a 4★ at Aspen
Gabrielle made her 3★ debut, marking an important step in her FEI journey
Nick closed out his season with a strong second-place finish at the 2★ level
Each of these accomplishments represents countless hours of preparation, resilience, and commitment, and we couldn’t be prouder of our athletes.
Grateful for an Incredible Community
Looking back, 2025 truly was a great year. It was a season filled with learning, progress, and shared experiences—made possible by the riders, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who continue to believe in CEDF’s mission.
As we head into 2026, we’re excited to build on this momentum and create even more opportunities for development, education, and connection. Thank you for being part of such a special year—we can’t wait to see what’s next.
